In June 2006 Barry Esson and Bryony McIntyre of Arika invited myself and Japanese sound artist Akio Suziki to tour in Scotland and the Orkney Islands. The event was called Resonant Spaces, and we visited six sites previously investigated by Barry for their unusual and extreme acoustics and locations. At each we arrived a day before the performance to get a feel for the spaces' particular qualities - and then played solo and in duo. Some of the saxophone pieces have been released on CD.
The touring party was completed by sound-man Ruari Cormack, artists Ben Drew & Emma Hart (who filmed some of their own work), translater & photographer Keiko Yoshida, and Wire writer Biba Kopf (who wrote World of Echoes about the first 3 concerts).
